Dr. Maureen Jay is originally from Southern California. She attended Washington State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (magna cum laude) in 2007 and then graduated with honors from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. Dr. Jay then completed a one-year rotating internship at the prestigious Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston, a one-year surgical specialty internship at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of San Diego, and a three-year Small Animal Surgery Residency in New York. Following this training, Dr. Jay spent time working at a specialty hospital in Hawaii, but is excited to be back on the mainland, and to be calling Arizona home.
Dr. Jay has been trained in soft tissue, orthopedic, oncologic, minimally invasive surgery, and neurosurgery. Her interests have led her to pursue additional training in advanced therapies for both domestic and exotic animals. In addition to her passion for treating animals, Dr. Jay has been an active supporter and participant in educating future veterinarians and veterinary technicians. Dr. Jay has presented at educational seminars and her research on the impact of TPLO surgery on patellar ligament length was published in the American Journal of Veterinary Research.
Dr. Jay is available for surgical referral appointments on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
