Dr. Yeamans grew up in the Denver metropolitan area. She completed her undergraduate degree with Majors in Biochemistry and Animal Science at Colorado State University where she developed an interest in immunology. Following graduation, she spent time conducting immunological research at National Jewish Medical Research Center in Denver, CO. She went on to complete her Veterinary Degree at Kansas State University. She pursued advanced veterinary training through a rotating small animal internship at VCA Aurora and Berwyn hospitals in Chicagoland area after graduation. While there she developed a strong interest in surgery, and completed specialized training at SAGE Centers for Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Care in the San Francisco Bay area in surgery. Here she continued to foster an interest in surgical neurology leading her to complete further specialty training in neurology and neurosurgery at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles. Dr. Yeamans completed her neurology/neurosurgery residency in 2014 at the University of Glasgow. She has been working in the southwest region since her return to the United States in 2015. Her interests include surgical neurology, brain tumor diagnosis and treatment and the challenge of immune mediated diseases of the central nervous system.
Dr. Yeamans’ leisure time typically involves the lake – where she loves to go fishing, boating and wakeboarding! She also loves to run, and is planning to complete another ½ marathon this fall.
